Poverty in Nepal is chronic,
basically rooted in the insufficiency of the resource base and low productivity
of resource. The solution lie in increasing productivity of resource coupled
with curbing population growth, but this will take long time. It is therefore,
legitimate to consider a sustained program of support to the poor. Some of it
are production oriented and some of it are welfare oriented.
Understanding the scenario of the
country and the target area, Environment and Holistic Development Center
(EHDC) believes on channeling resources for the development through more
cost effective channel. We believe, to bring about technology transformation in
the rural community through more integrated approach and by strengthening
indigenous capacity to manage those changes. Therefore, EHDC wants not only to
limit development in word but also in deeds.
